Clinical Director/ Program Director Position Summary:
The LMHP provides clinical services within a Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Program servicing adults and or adolescents experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The LMHP is responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, Medicaid and agency regulations. The LMHP works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support recovery, relapse prevention, emotional wellness and successful functioning. Services may be provided virtually, or in hybrid formats in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Services  Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, in substance use assessments and mental health screenings.  Develop individualized treatment plan, measurable goals and discharge plans in collaboration with clients.  Complete crisis intervention and risk assessments for suicidal ideation, relapse risk, or psychiatric instability when necessary.  Coordinate referrals for higher levels of care, medication management, medical services, housing resources, peer support and community resources.  Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and uphold ethical standards of practice. Documentation and Compliance.  Complete clinical documentation within required timeframes, including  Intake assessments  Treatment plans and updates  Discharge summaries  Authorization documentation  Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and complies with Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs), and state regulations.  Maintain compliance with applicable standards from Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services. Qualifications  Active Virginia licensure as one of the following:  LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)  LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)  LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)  Licensed Clinical Psychologist  Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work may be considered if allowed by agency policy and payer requirements.  Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.  Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders preferred.  Knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, and trauma informed care preferred.  Strong clinical assessment, documentation and organizational skills.  Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team  Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms preferred.
