Contract Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Mental Health Counselor Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Contract Licensed Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide high-quality psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support individuals facing various mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, trauma, and behavioral issues. Duties:
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to enhance client engagement and facilitate behavior change across diverse populations. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or emergencies. Manage medical documentation accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including detailed progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records using appropriate medical terminology. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care effectively. Maintain compliance with telehealth protocols by delivering remote therapy sessions when necessary while ensuring privacy and confidentiality standards are upheld. Support patients with special needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD care requirements, grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain management, gender issues counseling, and geriatrics. Valid state licensure as a Licensed Therapist (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent), CSAT speciality highly desirable. Proven experience providing psychotherapy or clinical counseling in outpatient or inpatient settings; clinic experience preferred. Strong knowledge of behavioral health practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art/dance therapies, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management strategies. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; CPT coding experience is a plus. Ability to work effectively via telehealth platforms while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, case management coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience documenting in electronic health records is preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently while providing compassionate support.
