Job Description

PAX Health is a leading mental and behavioral health organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing mental health challenges. Our team of professionals strive to create an environment where mental health is prioritized, stigma is eradicated, and individuals can thrive in their journey towards well-being. The Worker's Compensation Therapist will deliver a range of therapeutic services including individual, couple/family, and group therapy, along with evaluations to arrive at a diagnostic impression that informs treatment recommendations/planning and ongoing service delivery. They will collaborate closely with the Clinical Directors to ensure effective treatment planning and implementation as part of the Worker's Compensation or No-Fault System of Care. Must be able to work on-site at our location in Ocean County.
Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and promptly respond to assigned workers' compensation treatment referrals and cases Provide individual psychotherapy and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to injured workers within scope of licensure Develop, implement, and maintain individualized treatment plans focused on symptom management, functional improvement, and return-to-work goals Monitor patient progress throughout treatment and collaborate with the clinical team, case managers, and referral sources as appropriate regarding ongoing care and treatment recommendations Independently manage treatment planning and clinical decision making Provides therapy sessions for individuals and groups presenting for treatment as part of the Worker's Compensation or No-Fault System of Care. Collaborates with the Clinical Director to ensure documentation meets the standards set forth by PAX Health and fulfills the requirements of other stakeholders. Confers with the Clinical Director regarding the impact of clinical work on legal processes. Participates in depositions for Worker's Compensation cases as needed. Remains in good standing concerning professional licensure status and Worker's Compensation authorization/credentialing status. Ensures quality, professional, and ethical clinical documentation standards. Displays timely, respectful, and responsive communication with Clinical Director and Administrative staff. Responds to and adheres to standards and directives set forth by the Clinical Director. Participates in in-service training programs. Participate in quality assurance duties including, but not limited to, chart auditing, procedure development, documentation creation and implementation, documentation/licensure compliance, and oversight of treatment pre-authorizations. Abide by PAX Health code of ethics and model values Other duties as needed within the scope of the role.
Requirements:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor Valid New Jersey State License Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent the agency in the community. Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc. Good organizational skills and administrative abilities. Ability to communicate with clients and staff members through various forms of communication, including email and phone. Computer literacy is required. Must be able to use Word, Excel, etc. Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work including weekends. Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to a professional code of ethics. Knowledge of and the ability to comply with the state's mental health code. Appropriate professional registration/certification by state/national authority required.
