Job Description

Position Summary:
The Mental Health Clinician with Ash & Birch provides professional counseling services to individuals, couples, families and/or groups experiencing various mental health and/or emotional challenges. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and promoting the well-being of clients in accordance with ethical standards, best practices and weight-inclusive care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluations Diagnose mental health disorders using DSM-5 criteria Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans
Therapeutic Intervention:
Provide individual, couples, group, and/or family counseling sessions. Full-Time positions provide 25-28 client hours per week plus administrative responsibilities and other duties as assigned Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, EFT) Provide all support through a trauma-informed lens Educate individuals and family members about mental health conditions and treatment Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting interventions as needed Maintain accurate, confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
Professional Collaboration:
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals Refer clients to community resources and support networks as needed Participate in case conferences and team meetings Advocate for client mental health needs and rights within various systems (e.g., healthcare, legal, educational)
Crisis Intervention:
Provide support and intervention for mental health crises Refer to immediate crisis intervention services as necessary Develop and implement crisis management plans for at-risk clients
Education and Advocacy:
Conduct mental health workshops and educational sessions for clients, families, or the community Advocate for client mental health needs and rights within various systems (e.g., healthcare, legal, educational) Create awareness, promote equity and challenge barriers within systems of oppression that perpetuate injustice for clients (e.g. racial, gender, sexuality, economic, body size, disability)
Professional Development:
Engage in ongoing training and continuing education Participate in regular supervision and peer consultation sessions
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
Licensure:
Licensed or license-eligible as a counselor or counselor associate (LMHC, LMHCA, LICSW, LICSWA, LMFT, LMFTA) in Washington state.
Screening :
All applicants will be required to pass a background check before employment
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience providing mental health counseling

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
