Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our growing psychiatric practice. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and improve overall well-being. Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and secure medical documentation practices. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology collaboration when appropriate and monitor patient progress through detailed medical records. Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, social work coordination, and behavioral health support. Requirements Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience working with a wide arrange of patients in outpatient settings. Strong knowledge of mental health counseling techniques including motivational interviewing, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and gender issues counseling. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health. Experience with crisis management protocols and behavior management strategies for patients with complex needs. Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms and electronic medical records systems ensuring HIPAA compliance. Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder using specialized approaches like applied behavior analysis or special education techniques.
