Job Description

New Start Psychological Care is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated, compassionate therapist/counselor to join our growing clinical team. We serve a diverse population with a wide range of mental health needs, and we are committed to providing high-quality, client-centered care in a supportive, collaborative environment. Position Overview The ideal candidate is an empathetic, skilled clinician who is comfortable providing evidence-based individual, family, and/or group therapy. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, PMHNPs, social workers, licensed counselors, and administrative staff—to ensure clients receive coordinated, comprehensive care. Services are offered both in-person and via telehealth. Clinicians who work remotely must have appropriate devices and a private workspace. Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments using standardized tools, interviews, history gathering, and collateral information to diagnose and develop treatment plans. Provide individual therapy, family sessions, group counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as clinically indicated. Deliver ongoing treatment and monitor progress over time, adjusting interventions and updating treatment plans as needed. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with federal, state, and facility standards. Communicate and collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, case managers, and other providers to ensure continuity of care. Coordinate with families, referral sources, and community supports when appropriate. Attend team meetings, case consultations, trainings, and staff development sessions. Utilize office technology, EHR systems, and telehealth platforms to deliver high-quality care. Perform other clinically related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Active New Jersey license —
LCSW, LPC, LSW, LAC, or LAMFT Preferred:
Master's degree in
Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy Preferred:
1-2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient or related setting
Required:
U.S. work authorization
Preferred:
