You have to put time aside every day to work on something related to getting your practice going, learning the trade, how to market yourself, and developing referral sources. The biggest factor in having success in private practice is putting the time in to learn about the business side of things and build your practice. We start all our clinicians at no less than a 70/30 split - that means you keep 70% of the remittance you generate through seeing your clients. The 30% we keep goes toward our commercial insurance, suite rent, internet costs, business cards, website, other office supplies and bills related to staying in business.
