The QMHS partners with clients to increase independence, improve emotional wellness, develop coping skills, access community resources, and achieve individualized treatment goals. Services are delivered in clients' homes, community settings, or via approved telehealth platforms while maintaining compliance with Ohio Medicaid regulations, Joint Commission standards, and Empowered Mentoring Group policies. Essential Job Responsibilities Provide Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) services in accordance with Ohio Medicaid guidelines. Develop therapeutic relationships with clients while promoting recovery and independence. Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the clinical team. Assist clients in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and daily living skills. Educate clients on symptom management, medication adherence (when appropriate), stress reduction, and healthy lifestyle practices. Connect clients with community resources including housing, employment, food assistance, transportation, medical care, vocational rehabilitation, and educational opportunities. Provide crisis intervention and assist clients in developing safety and relapse prevention plans. Support clients with goal setting related to employment, education, parenting, independent living, financial stability, and social functioning. Maintain communication with therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team. Advocate for clients while promoting self-advocacy and empowerment. Participate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and required trainings. Complete all required documentation within established agency timelines. Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies. Documentation Responsibilities Complete CPST progress notes within 24 hours of service delivery. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the agency Electronic Health Record (SimplePractice). Participate in treatment planning and six-month treatment plan reviews. Complete assessments and documentation as assigned. Ensure documentation meets Ohio Medicaid and Joint Commission standards. Report incidents according to agency policy. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related behavioral health field preferred. Must meet Ohio Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) requirements. One year of experience working with individuals experiencing mental illness preferred. Valid Ohio driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance. Ability to pass state and federal background checks. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing CPST services. Knowledge of trauma-informed care. Experience with motivational interviewing and person-centered planning. Familiarity with Ohio Medicaid documentation requirements. Experience working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, serious mental illness, or substance use disorders. Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Physical Requirements Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods. Ability to perform home and community visits in various environments. Schedule Monday through Friday (flexible scheduling) Occasional evenings or weekends based on client needs Hybrid community and office-based work Performance Expectations Quality Mental Health Specialists are expected to: Maintain a minimum monthly productivity standard as established by EMG. Achieve at least a 95% documentation compliance rate. Complete documentation within 24 hours of service. Attend all required supervision sessions and staff meetings. Complete all annual mandatory trainings. Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and Ohio Department of Medicaid standards. Demonstrate professionalism, cultural competence, ethical practice, and client-centered care. Salary Range $22.00-$30.00 per hour , based on education, experience, certification, and productivity incentives
