Job Description

Are you a Resident in Counseling or Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy in Virginia looking for a supportive, collaborative practice where you can grow your clinical skills, earn your hours, and feel part of a warm team culture? At Keystone Therapy Group, we're more than a therapy practice — we're a community of compassionate clinicians who value collaboration, learning, and balance. We specialize in helping clients heal from trauma, reduce anxiety and stress, and strengthen relationships. We are LGBTQ+ and BIPOC allies, and we welcome team members who share our values of inclusivity and empathy.
What We Offer Residents:
Free weekly supervision with two board-approved supervisors (1 LPC + 1 LMFT) - includes 1 individual hour and up to 2 group hours per week. Steady stream of clients through practice-wide marketing and referrals. Insurance credentialing + billing handled for you so you can focus on therapy. Company email + TherapyNotes EHR (scheduling, documentation, billing, and client portal). Flexible scheduling - see clients when it works for you (afternoons, evenings, or weekends). Team culture that values connection and collaboration - we hold two weekly case consultation groups, and our therapists genuinely support one another. Comfortable, bright office space for in-person sessions + the ability to provide telehealth across Virginia. Opportunities to grow your specialty - residents are encouraged to explore their niche while gaining experience with a variety of clients. Education & Licensure Reimbursement with $250 reimbursed annually for CEUs, and licensure renewal fees reimbursed annually.
Responsibilities:
Provide therapy to children, teens, young adults, couples, and/or families (in-office at least 2 days per week + telehealth). Maintaining 20-25 client hours per week as a W2 employee. Collaborate with clients to identify therapeutic needs and goals. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in TherapyNotes. Participate in regular supervision and case consultation groups. Adhere to ethical standards and all state/federal regulations.
Requirements:
Active Virginia License as a Resident in Counseling (LPC) or Resident in Marriage & Family Therapy (LMFT), or eligible to apply upon employment. Passion for working with children & teens & young adults. Work with couples and families is a plus. Scheduling availability must include afternoons/evenings for after-school hours. Familiarity with the DSM-5-TR and treatment planning. Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills. Commitment to confidentiality, inclusivity, and ethical practice. Why Join Keystone? We know residency can feel overwhelming; between building your caseload, navigating insurance, and trying to find your niche. That's why we do everything we can to make sure you feel supported, not just supervised. At Keystone, you'll never feel like you're "just another resident." You'll be part of a trusted team where your voice matters, your growth is prioritized, and your work-life balance is respected.
