SCOPE OF SERVICES - RESPITE SERVICE PROVIDER
(RSP) The Contractor, in their capacity as a Respite Service Provider (RSP), shall provide planned or emergency short-term relief for primary caregivers. These services are designed to support the patient's behavioral stability while ensuring the caregiver's mental well-being, performed under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor for APA International and its managed entities: 1.
Direct Respite Support & Supervision Caregiver Relief:
Providing high-quality, temporary care to the patient to allow the primary caregiver(s) a necessary break for their own mental health and wellness.
Behavioral Maintenance:
Supporting the patient in maintaining the behavioral progress made in therapy and case management sessions during the respite period.
Routine Consistency:
Ensuring services (activities) is followed as outlined in the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP). 2.
Supportive Interventions Skill Reinforcement:
Assisting the patient in practicing social, emotional, and coping skills previously identified by the therapy team.
Supervised Community Integration:
Engaging the patient in safe, age-appropriate community or home-based activities that promote positive social interaction.
De-escalation & Safety:
Monitoring the patient's behavioral health status and utilizing approved non-emergency de-escalation techniques if symptoms arise during the respite duration. 3.
Clinical Respite Services Short-Term Relief:
Providing planned or emergency short-term clinical supervision and support to patients to provide relief to primary caregivers.
Goal-Oriented Support:
Ensuring that during respite periods, the patient continues to engage in activities that align with their ITP goals.
Safety & Observation:
Maintaining a safe clinical environment and providing high-level observation of the patient's behavioral health status. 3.
Observation & Collaboration Symptom Monitoring:
Observing the patient's mood and behavior during the respite period and reporting any significant changes or concerns to the clinical team.
Individualized Treatment Plan Alignment:
Ensuring all activities performed during the respite stay align with the goals and objectives of the patient's current Individualized Treatment Plan.
Caregiver Hand-off:
Providing a brief verbal or written summary to the caregiver upon their return regarding the patient's behavior and any notable events. 4.
Documentation & Administration Respite Progress Notes:
Completing accurate and timely documentation for each respite encounter, ensuring compliance with Ohio Medicaid and OhioMHAS standards.
Incident Reporting:
Promptly documenting and reporting any unusual incidents, accidents, or behavioral crises that occur during the service period.
Team Communication:
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings when necessary to provide feedback on the patient's functioning outside of formal clinical sessions. 5.
Compliance & Professionalism Competency:
Maintaining all required certifications, background checks, and training necessary to provide respite services under Ohio law.
Boundary Management:
Maintaining professional boundaries with the family, ensuring the service remains focused on the patient's care and the caregiver's relief.
Pay:
$3,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
