THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA. JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides culturally competent intake assessments, triage appointments, crisis intervention, case management, individual therapy, group therapy, outreach services, consultation, community referrals, and participation in a multidisciplinary approach to the clinical care of Oxford College students at the Counseling and Wellbeing (CCW) center. Serves as a professional resource providing outreach and consultation to the Oxford community. Performs other related duties as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS
Conduct initial assessments, triage appointments, and intake evaluations Provide short-term individual counseling Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessment Facilitate therapy groups and psychoeducational workshops Provide consultation to faculty, staff, students, and families regarding students of concern Participate in campus outreach, prevention efforts, and wellbeing initiatives Collaborate with campus partners to support students navigating academic, personal, and mental health challenges Maintain timely clinical documentation and participate in team consultation and case review Clinicians work as part of a small interdisciplinary team committed to fostering a responsive and supportive campus mental health environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A master's degree or higher from an accredited institution in an applied mental health field, and one year of prior counseling experience in an outpatient setting as a licensed provider. Licensure to practice independently in the state of Georgia in your discipline in an applied mental health field (i.e., LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist) within one year of hire. Licensure to practice in Georgia under supervision is still required. Demonstrated interest in, knowledge of, skills and commitment to issues inherent in a welcoming community.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline from an accredited institution Licensed or license‑eligible in the State of Georgia (e.g., Licensed Psychologist, LPC, LCSW) Oxford College will also consider candidates who hold associate licensure (e.g., APC or LMSW) and are eligible to practice under supervision in the state of Georgia. At least two years of clinical experience providing counseling or psychotherapy in an outpatient or similar setting Experience working with young adults or college‑age populations Demonstrated commitment to providing culturally responsive and inclusive mental health care Experience in a college or university counseling center Trauma‑informed care, including work with survivors of interpersonal violence Group counseling facilitation Clinical work with high‑achieving student populations Experience supporting international and culturally diverse students Substance use assessment and intervention Supporting students with neurodiversity or learning differences Experience providing campus consultation or outreach programming
NOTE:
Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
