Job Description
Job Title:
Clinical Counselor / Interventionist (Child Welfare & Family Reunification)Company:
Coyote's Counseling Services LLC Location:
Alamosa, Colorado (Hybrid)Job Type:
Part-Time (Maximum 15 hours per week)Salary:
$30.00 per hour About Us At Coyote's Counseling Services LLC, our mission is to provide a holistic, wrap-around approach to family reunification and personal self-sufficiency. We partner with families involved in the child welfare system to rebuild the foundation of their lives. We believe that a stable family relies on financial health, emotional maturity, physical wellness, and effective parenting skills. We do not just teach facts; we require clients to embody the skills necessary to live safe, productive lives. Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled, assessment-focused clinical counselor to join our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for up to 15 hours per week. This is not a traditional private practice role. You will provide forensic-level clinical observation, intensive behavioral coaching, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Because our program is designed as a bridge with a strict "One-Year Window" philosophy, our therapy is highly urgent and action-oriented. You will evaluate clients as they move from educational "Book Work" to supervised "Hands-On Coaching," providing professional opinions that directly impact DSS and court decisions. Key Responsibilities Clinical Intervention & Assessment Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews to determine individual needs and emotional barriers. Deliver individual and family counseling using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral techniques, focusing on accountability and trauma processing. Provide specialized therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities, PTSD, SUD (Substance Use Disorder), or emotional regulation challenges. Teach and clinically model the Love and Logic® parenting curriculum, helping clients neutralize arguments and develop empathy. Facilitate our "Living in Harmony" holistic modules, guiding clients through practical stressors like financial literacy, digital safety, and physical and mental wellness. Real-Time Coaching & Observation Provide Phase II "Hands-On Coaching" during supervised visits, stepping in to whisper suggestions or model techniques when a child is in distress. Assess a client's "muscle memory" and ability to apply classroom knowledge under stress. Forensic Documentation & MDT Collaboration Provide and document a daily feedback loop at the conclusion of every single session or visit. Write behaviorally specific progress notes and clinical reports for DSS and court approval. Collaborate regularly with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to determine a client's "Successful" or "Unsuccessful" progression based on demonstrated behavioral change. Act as a Mandated Reporter, promptly notifying authorities of any safety threats or abuse. Crisis & Conflict Management Enforce a strict zero-tolerance General Client Code of Conduct regarding physical intimidation or aggressive language. Deliver difficult, objective feedback directly to clients without "sugarcoating" issues that prevent their success.Requirements and Qualifications Education:
