Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated counselor to provide support and therapeutic services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The counselor will deliver trauma-informed care through individual counseling and victim advocacy, utilizing evidence-based practices. This role involves working closely with diverse populations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to empowering clients on their path to recovery.
Responsibilities:
Provide short-term counseling to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault Provide psychoeducational group experiences to reduce the effects of trauma Ensure required documentation, including client records, service reports and administrative paperwork are thoroughly completed and timely Assist and support staff during crisis situations Give expert testimony in court Consult with supervisor (or other identified person) for training and support Attend case staffing's and maintain communication with fellow case workers Consult and staff clients with Case Managers Participate on the on-call schedule as staff backup for volunteers and shelter coverage Provide office coverage during times of staff shortage Represent Cumbee Center in the community and conduct presentations as required Maintain current procedures in the Counseling Program procedure manual Maintain professional licensure as required, or be in process of obtaining licensure Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field; licensure required. Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, trauma counseling (including PTSD) or behavioral health. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse client populations. Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally while maintaining confidentiality. Pay:
$42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
