The role involves individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, social emotional learning lessons, and collaboration with educators, parents, staff, and other individuals to foster the overall well-being of our scholars. This position may require some weekend or after-hours travel for workshops and will occasionally require availability after hours for parental meetings. Essential FunctionsConduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address emotional, behavioral, and social concerns. Develop personalized treatment plans and goals to support students mental health and academic success. Participate in ARD meetings as needed. Facilitate group counseling sessions to address common challenges and promote a sense of community and support among students. Collaborate with teachers to identify and address group needs within the school setting. Provide immediate support and intervention during crisis situations, such as emotional distress, trauma, or other emergencies. Collaborate with school administrators and other relevant personnel to implement crisis management protocols. Work with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students mental health needs within the school and home environments. Provide consultation and training to school staff on recognizing and addressing mental health concerns. Develop and implement preventive mental health programs and initiatives to promote a positive school culture. Conduct workshops and presentations with the guidance of the District Counselor for students, parents, and staff on topics related to mental health and well-being. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions. Prepare and submit reports as required by school policies and regulations. Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of school counseling and mental health. Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge. Remain at location during the emergency. Return immediately after an emergency to relieve those who are assigned to stay. Work at an alternate location if assigned during or after the emergency. Come to work during scheduled time off (vacation) if requested. Other duties as assigned.
