Job Description

SBS Clinician School Based - Powhatan, Virginia Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full Time School-Based Clinician to join our team. Benefits of this position include paid leave, enrollment in Virginia Retirement System, and health/dental/vision insurance, with a free option for the employee.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This clinician's primary responsibility is to provide school-based services to children and adolescents who reside in Goochland and Powhatan counties. This position would be housed in schools within the counties to provide outpatient therapy and case management services to students. The clinician is responsible for providing adjunctive case management and linkage to other resources that may be appropriate for clients and their families, including Departments of Social Services, Health Departments, county FAPT Teams, court services, and in home providers. The schedule for this position follows the teacher workday schedule during the school year. Intermittent work at GPCS offices may occur to meet the needs of the clients and the agency. This is a full-time position supported by grant funding and is for the duration of the grant, with potential for renewal pending future funding. While licensed candidates are preferred, license eligible may apply. The successful candidate is a self-motivated individual who excels at working independently to build solid working relationships with a variety of other professionals and school personnel. This position will require excellent relational skills, verbal and written communication skills, proficient computer skills, including documentation in an electronic health record; and the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION Master's Degree, eligible to become licensed as a "Resident or Supervisee" under the clinical supervision per appropriate licensing board of a licensed professional counselor (18VAC115-20-10), licensed marriage and family therapist (18VAC115-50-10) or licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner (18VAC115-60-10) approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling; "Resident in psychology" under supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist approved by the Virginia Board of Psychology (18VAC125-20-10); "Supervisee in social work" under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker approved by the Virginia Board of Social Work (18VAC140-20-10).
EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates for this position must possess a thorough working knowledge of the DSM criteria and have experience working with youth who are living with serious emotional disturbance and the results of trauma. Experience with substance use disorders is a plus. LICENSE(S) Eligible to become licensed per Virginia DBHDS requirements.
