Job Description

SUD Focused Clinician SUR - Goochland, Virginia Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full Time Substance Use Disorder Focused Clinician to join our team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Focused Clinician serves as a primary provider of outpatient substance use, mental health, and co-occurring treatment (individual, group, and family) to adolescents and adults who reside in Goochland and Powhatan counties. The incumbent will provide evidence-based counseling techniques to consumers that have substance use and mental health disorders. This position is responsible for linking consumers to psychiatric services as necessary and for monitoring their use of therapeutic medications. The SUD Clinician provides case management and linkage to other resources that may be appropriate for the consumer, including Withdrawal Management, Residential Treatment, MAT, Department of Social Services, Health Department, County FAPT Team, and Court Services. This position is under the Substance Use Recovery Manager who will provide oversight for services provided. A Master's degree in a human services field and license eligible status required; license and CSAC preferred. Six months of substance use clinical experience required. Ability to work with co-occurring disorders and knowledge with use of electronic health records and Office 365 also preferred.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION Master's Degree, eligible to become licensed as a "Resident or Supervisee" under the clinical supervision per appropriate licensing board of a licensed professional counselor (18VAC115-20-10), licensed marriage and family therapist (18VAC115-50-10) or licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner (18VAC115-60-10) approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling; "Resident in psychology" under supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist approved by the Virginia Board of Psychology (18VAC125-20-10); "Supervisee in social work" under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker approved by the Virginia Board of Social Work (18VAC140-20-10).
EXPERIENCE
Two years clinical experience in mental health with knowledge and/or experience of co-occurring treatment that may include supervised clinical internships and field placements with a provider of mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.
