Part-time | Evening & Weekend Availability Preferred About Cedar Spring Counseling Cedar Spring Counseling, LLC is a growing private mental health practice in Manassas, Virginia dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Our practice specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ concerns, relationship issues, and life transitions. We are committed to creating a supportive and collaborative environment for both clients and clinicians. Our goal is to help residents develop confidence, clinical skills, and professional identity while working toward LPC licensure in a healthy and sustainable practice setting. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Resident in Counseling (or an individual eligible for Virginia residency status) to join our team as a part-time W-2 employee . This role involves providing outpatient psychotherapy services to approximately 10-20 clients per week in our Manassas office. Current office availability includes weekday evenings and weekends , with potential opportunities for additional daytime hours as the caseload grows. Residents receive ongoing supervision and mentorship from the practice owner to support professional growth and progress toward full LPC licensure. Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy services based on clinical experience and areas of interest Complete intake assessments, treatment planning, and progress documentation in a timely manner Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with ethical, legal, and HIPAA standards Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches appropriate to client needs Collaborate with other healthcare providers and referral sources when clinically indicated Participate in supervision, case consultation, and team collaboration Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and compliance with Virginia Board of Counseling regulations Engage in continued learning and professional development opportunities QualificationsRequired Master's degree in Counseling or a related mental health field Active Virginia Resident in Counseling status OR eligibility to obtain residency status Ability to work independently while receiving supervision Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems Availability for in-person evening and/or weekend sessions Ability to complete background and reference checks Preferred Experience or interest in working with adolescents, young adults, couples, or families Familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, or EMDR Interest in trauma-informed care and relational therapy approaches What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling and autonomy in building your caseload Weekly clinical supervision toward LPC licensure Administrative support for scheduling, billing, and insurance credentialing Access to HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth systems (SimplePractice) Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunities for professional growth and consultation
