Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Crisis Counselor/ QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional)/Specialist to provide immediate mental health support and crisis intervention services in community settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health, crisis management, and patient assessment, with a focus on delivering person-centered care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by assisting individuals experiencing mental health crises, including those with developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, and behavioral challenges. The successful applicant will be committed to providing high-quality, HIPAA-compliant care while working collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, and community agencies. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate mental health status and determine appropriate intervention strategies. Deliver crisis intervention services in various settings, including homes, hospitals, and community locations, ensuring safety and stabilization. Provide individual and group counseling utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Develop personalized care plans that incorporate trauma-informed approaches, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and social work principles. Document all patient interactions accurately within medical records following HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, discharge planning, and follow-up care for clients with complex needs. Engage in ongoing training related to crisis management, behavioral health trends, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and research to enhance service delivery. Experience Proven experience working within behavioral health settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or community programs. Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention techniques and acute care management. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and electronic health records systems. Background in working with children and families facing mental health challenges or developmental disabilities. Knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches for PTSD patients and individuals experiencing grief or loss. Experience providing services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using applied behavior analysis (ABA) methods. Strong understanding of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) for accurate diagnosis documentation and research purposes.
