We are offering a great opportunity for a full-time Emergency Services Clinician - Civil Commitments . Responsibilities This position is responsible for providing crisis intervention services and representing the agency in Temporary Detention Order (TDO) hearings.
Duties include:
Conducting pre-screening evaluations, intakes, and crisis resolution counseling. Providing services to clients within the Greater Reach CSB catchment area. Assisting with recommitments and step-down prescreens for state and local hospitals. Completing recommitment hearings for requests within and outside Region IV. Providing crisis intervention services by phone; in clinics, hospitals, jails, schools, and other public facilities; and in consumers' homes. Establishing a welcoming environment for individuals with co-occurring disorders. Performing hopeful engagement and integrated screening and assessment. Required Education and Experience - Licensed Eligible Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field. Board registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia with license eligibility. Minimum three (3) years of experience in community-based emergency services, including therapy for MH/SA/Co-Occurring populations. Five (5) years of crisis intervention experience. Preadmission Screening Clinician Certification required within the first 90 days of employment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Required Education and Experience - Licensed Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field. Current LMHP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP, or LCP license/certification. Minimum one (1) year of experience in community-based emergency services, including therapy for MH/SA/Co-Occurring populations. Three (3) years of crisis intervention experience. Preadmission Screening Clinician Certification required within the first 90 days of employment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of crisis intervention therapies and techniques. Understanding of human personality, development, mental health disabilities, and counseling/therapy practices. Knowledge of case management services and interagency service coordination. Familiarity with Virginia Code related to TDOs, involuntary commitments, and recommitments. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to provide emergency and crisis intervention services. Ability to complete comprehensive psychosocial evaluations. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation. Ability to coordinate services for individuals with mental illness. Skills in assessing and diagnosing substance use and mental health disorders. Proficiency with standard computer applications. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all organizational levels. Ability to function effectively within interdisciplinary and interagency teams. Sound judgment and initiative. Ability to maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA. Ability to work independently with supervisory support. Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a certified pre-screener. Additional Requirements Fingerprinting, state and FBI background checks, drug screening, and a central registry report are required upon selection. Greater Reach CSB maintains a drug-free workplace.
