Resident in Counseling Current Counseling LLC Portsmouth, VA Job Details Part-time | Full-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Intake Individual therapy HIPAA Master's degree Adolescents Managing patient records Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident in Counseling to join our dynamic mental health and behavioral services team. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive counseling and therapeutic support across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and individuals. As a Resident in Counseling, you will engage in clinical assessments, deliver evidence-based therapies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental wellness and recovery. You will also receive on site supervision which can be contributed to required hours by state licensure. Duties Conduct intakes, administer assessments, diagnose using the latest DSM, build and maintain rapport with clients, and demonstrate an ability to utilize their chosen therapeutic modality. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Develop contract with supervisor and meet with them on a weekly basis. Maintain meticulous medical documentation, medical records, and behavioral health notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate and coordinate care with healthcare providers on patient care plans, medication management, and diagnostic evaluations. Complete and document phone calls, emails, and referrals for potential clients and add contact information to wait list. Qualifications Completed graduate degree from a college or university accredited by CACREP or a college or university that has all the following: A documented academic study with the expressed intent to prepare counselors, Identifiable counselor training faculty, An identifiable body of students who complete the academic study that prepares counselors, and Clear authority and primary responsibility for the core and specialty coursework areas.
