What You'll Do As a
IOP/ PHP
Group Facilitator, you'll lead engaging and evidence-based group sessions that help clients build coping skills, strengthen recovery supports, and develop healthier lifestyles.
Responsibilities include:
Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for individuals in Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs. Deliver curriculum focused on substance use recovery, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, life skills, mental wellness, and personal growth. Utilize evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches. Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging group environment where clients feel empowered to participate and grow. Collaborate with counselors, peer recovery specialists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team. Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Virginia regulations and agency standards. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Qualifications Required Virginia Credentials (must hold at least one of the following): CSAC-S (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - Supervisor) CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor) LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) Resident in Counseling Supervisee in Social Work Other qualifying LMHP credentials recognized by the
Commonwealth of Virginia Preferred Experience:
Group facilitation in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or co-occurring treatment settings. Knowledge of ASAM criteria and recovery-oriented systems of care. Experience working with diverse populations. Strong communication, engagement, and documentation skills. Why Join True Recovery RVA?
