Mobile Crisis Response Counselors
  • Evening, Overnight and Weekends Richmond, VA 23234 $45

  • Part-time, Full-time Guiding Lights maintains the highest commitment to ethics and integrity and is seeking qualified staff who embody these traits.
We are seeking Qualified Community Stabilization Counselors to perform the following critical functions: Must be a QMHP-A Mobile Crisis Response training certified (Preferred) Crisis intervention and assessments of the client's psychological status, emotional status, and physical health conditions Make determinations as to the level of danger the client faces; presence of any substance abuse issues and efficacy difficulties. Advocate for clients, initiating strategies that will guide the client towards therapeutic solutions, medication management, life coping skills, etc.
  • Assessment screening for suicidal or homicidal ideation;
  • Brief Therapeutic Interventions; coping mechanisms, mental health skill building;
  • Interventions to integrate natural supports in the de-escalation and stabilization of the crisis
  • Crisis education and prevention planning and support when discharged
  • Engaging peer/natural and family support to strengthen the individual's participation and engagement.
  • Linkage and referral to Community Resources and supports (examples: housing, PCP, Food bank, Outpatient Therapy, as appropriate and least restrictive level of care.
  • Maintain case records in accordance with licensing and Medicaid standards
  • Coordinate, develop, and implement Individualized Service Plans Requirements
  • Must have QMHP-A credentials, Licensed or Licensed Eligible (Through the Dept. of Health Professions)
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree (or Master's Degree
  • preferred) from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field such as Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience working with adults who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. 6 months of experience as a Community Stabilization Crisis Counselor ( not mandatory)
  • Must have flexible schedule and the ability to be on call weekly
  • Online platform for documentation
  • Notable Valid Driver's license with a good driving record.
