Position Overview As a Counselor Intern, you will be a vital part of our clinical team, working under the guidance of a licensed supervisor to support client recovery and well-being. This role is designed to provide educational and professional development opportunities, helping you meet licensure requirements while making a positive impact on clients' lives. Key Responsibilities Assist with client assessments and contribute to individualized treatment planning under direct supervision. Co-facilitate therapy sessions, psychoeducational groups, and recovery programs alongside licensed clinicians. Accurately complete clinical documentation, including progress notes, with supervision and review. Participate actively in supervision sessions, case reviews, and team meetings to enhance clinical skills. Engage in structured mentorship to develop competencies required for licensure and professional growth. Qualifications & Skills Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a master's-level program in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. Registered as a Supervisee in Virginia (LPC-R, CSAC-S, or CSAC). Foundational knowledge of counseling ethics, addiction recovery principles, and evidence-based practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Eagerness to learn, accept supervision, and grow professionally in a supportive environment. Work Environment & Conditions Part-time position with evening hours, 20-30 hours per week. Work primarily at our Roanoke location, with opportunities to engage in team collaboration and client services. Supervised directly by the Clinical Director, with participation in all required trainings and clinical meetings.
