Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities Provide peer-led support and mentorship to individuals experiencing behavioral health or addiction challenges, offering encouragement and practical guidance. Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to help clients identify goals, build motivation, and develop recovery plans. Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care, document progress in electronic health record (EHR) systems, and ensure continuity of support services. Assist clients in navigating behavioral health resources, community services, and treatment options tailored to their unique needs. Engage in ongoing training on mental health counseling, addiction counseling, social work principles, and crisis response strategies. Maintain accurate records of client interactions while respecting confidentiality standards and privacy regulations. Skills Strong understanding of behavioral health issues, mental health counseling practices, and addiction recovery processes. Proficiency in crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to effectively respond during emergencies. Excellent mentoring abilities with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and empowerment. Skilled in motivational interviewing to facilitate client engagement and goal setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and case tracking. Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, families, and community partners. Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing complex or high-stress situations.
