Job Description
Prince William County Community Services is seeking a dedicated Therapist II (Clinical Services Caseworker) to join the Recovery Support Services (RSS) Court-Related Treatment Team. This team provides structured substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment for individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The position will provide comprehensive assessment services, individual counseling, and group therapy to support recovery and reduce recidivism. As the Therapist II in this position, you will work collaboratively with criminal justice and community partners (including Probation and Pretrial Services, the courts, and the Public Defender's Office) to develop treatment recommendations and support re-entry planning that promotes continuity of care and long-term recovery. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to recovery-oriented, evidence-based care and strong partnerships across the behavioral health and criminal justice systems. This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring bonus. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment of $2,500 will be paid after you have completed 90 days of employment. The final $2,500 installment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the probationary period.
About This Role :
- Provides a comprehensive array of clinical services for criminal justice involved clients, including assessments, individual and group treatment.
- Writes and implements treatment plans.
- Maintains records according to the agency's policies and procedures.
- Implements Evidence-Based Practices faithfully according to the guidance in the material.
- Provides consultation to families, professionals, and community agencies regarding substance use and co-occurring issues.
- Coordinates client aftercare with the other CS staff, peer support, as well as other community-based services, and probation.
- Coordinate client care and make appropriate referrals for medication-assisted treatment and/or psychiatric services.
- Proactively provides client services to assist them in avoiding relapse and recidivism and progressing toward treatment goals.
- Prepares letters for court documenting treatment recommendations and client progress in the program.
- Provides education and recovery resources to clients.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and professional development activities.
- Attends/completes annual trainings as required.

Supportive Team Environment Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field.
- Must currently possess an LCSW or LPC or be eligible to obtain an LCSW or LPC in the Commonwealth of Virginia within 2 years of hire.
- 1-2 years related experience providing services to substance-using and co-occurring adults.
Preferences:
- Be licensed for independent practice
- Experience working within the criminal justice system
- Have direct experience and knowledge of medication-assisted treatment options and community-based recovery resources.
- Bilingual English/ Spanish is preferred
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid driver's license; Must pass DMV record check; Must pass TB Test; Certification in First Aid and Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, as required. Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted based national criminal history record check.Child Protective Services Requirements:
Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by theDepartment of Social Services Work Schedule :
FLSA Exempt, Monday- Friday 8AM
- 5PM with some flexibility, will require at least 2 evenings a week for group work.
Starting Salary Range:
$76,069.50- $104,676.
