Center Mental Health Consultant -
Full-Time Location:
Sedro-Woolley, WA Schedule:
Full-Time, Onsite 40 hours per week, no nights or weekends
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate; commensurate with experience and licensure About the Role We are seeking a licensed Center Mental Health Consultant (CMHC) to join a multidisciplinary wellness team at a residential vocational trade school serving adolescents and young adults. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about early intervention, short-term counseling, and helping students overcome barriers to employability and personal success. The CMHC plays a critical role in supporting student mental health, promoting resilience, and collaborating closely with medical, counseling, and residential staff in a structured, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct mental health assessments, screenings, and recommendations for students Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling with an emphasis on retention and employability Deliver mental health promotion and psychoeducational presentations to students Respond to and manage mental health crises in collaboration with onsite medical staff Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and consultations Collaborate with substance use specialists for students with co-occurring conditions Support referrals to off-site mental health providers when longer-term or specialized care is needed Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation Advise leadership and staff on mental health related best practices and prevention strategies Qualifications Independent clinical licensure in Washington State (LICSW 0r Psychologist) Must have 1 year post licensure to apply Experience working with adolescents and/or young adults Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and clinical judgment skills Ability to work collaboratively in a structured, team-based environment Comfort working with diverse populations, including socially and economically disadvantaged youth Experience in school, college, residential, correctional, or institutional settings strongly preferred Why This Role Meaningful, impact-driven work supporting youth at a pivotal life stage Structured daytime schedule with predictable hours Collaborative, mission-focused environment Opportunity to influence mental health programming at the systems level
Pay:
$50.00 - $85.00 per hour
