Job Description

Position Summary Express Care Clinic is seeking a licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide high-quality behavioral health services in a professional outpatient setting. This position is responsible for conducting on-site mental health assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual and group counseling services, maintaining clinical documentation, and collaborating with referral sources and community partners to support client recovery and stabilization. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, organized, compassionate, and capable of working independently while maintaining compliance with all applicable Texas laws, ethical standards, and company policies. Position Type Full-Time or Part-Time In-Person / On-Site Flexible scheduling opportunities available Required Licensure Applicants must hold an active Texas license in good standing in one of the following: LMHC-Licensed Mental Health Counselor LMHCA

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker LMFT
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Core ResponsibilitiesClinical Assessments Conduct comprehensive on-site mental health assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations Complete intake screenings and determine appropriate level of care Assess for risk factors including suicidality, self-harm, substance use, trauma, and crisis stabilization needs Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals Counseling Services Provide individual, family, and group counseling services Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions Support clients experiencing mental health, behavioral health, and co-occurring disorders Provide psychoeducation and coping skills development Coordinate care with outside providers, case managers, probation/court systems, and referral sources when applicable Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Complete progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and assessments in the EMR system Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Texas licensing standards, Medicaid/commercial payer requirements, and company policies Participate in clinical staffing, supervision, and quality assurance activities Client Support & Engagement Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and families Assist clients with identifying barriers to treatment and recovery Maintain professionalism, boundaries, and ethical standards at all times Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary Qualifications Active Texas clinical license in good standing Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field Experience providing mental health counseling and assessments preferred Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Preferred Experience Outpatient behavioral health experience Experience with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis populations Familiarity with EMR systems Experience working with Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation requirements Court, probation, or referral coordination experience preferred Benefits May Include Competitive compensation Flexible scheduling Clinical supervision opportunities (if applicable) Professional development support Growth opportunities within the organization Positive and mission-driven team culture Mission At Express Care Clinic, LLC, we are committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and client-centered behavioral health services that help individuals and families achieve long-term stability, healing, and recovery.
