Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments (biopsychosocials, risk assessments) Diagnose mental health disorders using
DSM-5-TR
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans Provide individual, group, couples, and family therapy Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning Maintain clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) Coordinate care with psychiatrists, case managers, medical providers, and community partners Provide clinical supervision to LPC-ITs or other trainees (if approved) Ensure compliance with ethical standards, state regulations, and agency policies Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings Advocate for clients and support continuity of care Experience Required for an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) An LPC has completed education, supervised clinical experience, and passed licensure exams . Education Master's degree (or higher) in: Professional Counseling Clinical Mental Health Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy (state-approved equivalent) Clinical Experience 3,000+ hours of post-graduate supervised clinical experience (varies by state; typically 2-3 years)

Direct client contact (individual, group, family therapy) Clinical assessments and diagnosis Treatment planning and case management Crisis intervention Documentation and compliance Supervision Supervised by a state-approved LPC or equivalent Regular individual and/or group supervision documented Specialized Experience (often preferred) Trauma-informed care Substance use disorders Serious mental illness (SMI) Co-occurring disorders Crisis response / de-escalation Community mental health or reentry populations Medicaid or insurance-based services Cultural competency and underserved populations Duties & Responsibilities - LPC-IT Provide individual and group counseling services under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor or approved clinical supervisor Conduct intake interviews, psychosocial assessments, and screenings in accordance with agency and state guidelines Assist in developing, implementing, and updating individualized treatment plans under supervisor review Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation , including progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans Participate in regular clinical supervision and apply feedback to strengthen clinical skills and ethical practice Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams , including case managers, medical providers, and support staff Support crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning with guidance from supervisor Provide client advocacy and care coordination as appropriate Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements (HIPAA), and state licensure regulations Accumulate required supervised clinical hours toward full LPC licensure Requirements - LPC-IT Master's degree in Professional Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy , or a closely related, state-approved field Eligible for or currently holding LPC-IT licensure/registration with the state licensing board Completion of required graduate practicum and internship hours Willingness to participate in ongoing clinical supervision Knowledge of
DSM-5-TR
, counseling techniques, and treatment planning fundamentals Strong written and verbal communication skills, including timely and accurate documentation Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based, multidisciplinary environment Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care
