Job Description

New River Ranch, Inc. is a residential group home dedicated to supporting children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Licensed through the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, it has been serving youth since 1988 within a nurturing environment on a historic ranch property. The organization operates as a ministry of the Church of God, providing comprehensive care and therapeutic support to its residents. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our dedicated team at New River Ranch, Inc. The Therapist will play a vital role in delivering mental health services to children and adolescents in our care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing evidence-based therapies, crisis intervention, and case management within a supportive residential setting. The ideal candidate will possess clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering positive outcomes for youth with diverse needs. Conduct regular individual counseling sessions with assigned youth to address emotional, behavioral, and trauma-related concerns. Serve as a member of the intake committee for potential new residents. Complete and maintain treatment plans for all assigned residents. Administer assessments and other comprehensive evaluations as deemed necessary. Administer pre-placement and on-going evaluations Complete and maintain treatment plans for all residents according to State regulations. Coordinate care with other treatment team members and external providers. Be an active participant in treatment and multidisciplinary teams. Provide effective services and maintain records. Engage in professional development to improve clinical skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Strong knowledge of crisis intervention protocols and crisis management procedures within inpatient or outpatient settings. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities Ability to conduct patient assessments including intake evaluations and diagnostic evaluations for mental health conditions. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff members, and external healthcare providers.
