Outpatient Therapist Location:
Wheeling, WV Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or designee, this position works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families served. This position works closely with youth, family, foster parents, and community partners, providing counseling or therapy, advocacy, and support toward the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community.Pay:

Responsibilities The Outpatient Therapist will perform duties including, but not limited to: Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission, values, and philosophies. Develops, implements, and supervises behavioral plans according to the needs of the program, staff, families, and persons served. Ensures all relevant school personnel, family service counselor, foster parents or guardians and bio parents (as needed) are educated and instructed on individual behavioral plans for persons served. Establishes and maintains contact with relevant community and school personnel to provide accurate monitoring. Maintains accurate and up to date records of evaluations, behavioral plans, treatment plans, and progress. Effectively and appropriately sets limits with persons served that are appropriate to the situation. Transports persons served as needed. Models appropriate and professional behavior. Ensures that documentation of progress notes, treatment and behavior plans, and assessments are accurate and completed in the required time. Relates with persons served, foster parents, guardians, community, partners, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner in person and phone interaction. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution. 2 years of work experience working in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred. A valid advanced professional license preferred: LPC, LCPC, LMFT, or LMSW preferred, or license-eligible. A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served. Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers. Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function. Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others. Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds. Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
