Job Description

Where You'll Work Founded in 1926, Dignity Health - Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is a 334-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital. Serving over 70,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level III NICU, heart care, wound care and surgical services. Additionally, Glendale Memorial Hospital has been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. It is a Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center and a SRC Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. One Community. One Mission. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Mental Health Worker, you will perform selected patient care activities, actively functioning as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide support for the patient's treatment plan.

Every day, you will observe and meticulously record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, reporting this crucial data to the Staff Registered Nurse. You must be capable of physically assisting patients, skillfully dealing with patient emergencies, and working collaboratively as a dedicated member of a clinical team within a dynamic therapeutic environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate compassion, keen observational skills, and effective communication, coupled with the physical capability to assist patients and handle emergencies. Your commitment to teamwork, accurate documentation, and supporting the treatment plan will be vital in fostering a safe and effective care environment for our patients. Completes work within an acceptable time frame, avoiding incidental overtime. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and optimally use work time. Ensures accuracy and completeness in job tasks. Demonstrates the ability to perform work in an accurate and timely manner in periods of increased workload and high stress. Demonstrates good judgement in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instructions. Seeks guidance when unsure. Follows established procedure in performing job functions. This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Job Requirements Required High School GED General Studies 2 years of acute psychiatric care experience required. Basic Life Support Cert (AHA BLS Cert) required Preferred Associates Other in progress for social sciences or psychology. Bachelor's Other in progress for social sciences or psychology.
