POSITION DESCRIPTION
Conducts mental health assessments; provides ongoing individual and group counseling services, screens for human trafficking concerns, and provides crisis intervention services. Under general supervision, performs a full range of therapeutic assignments related to the field of mental and behavioral health services and psychiatric social work as applicable by professional licensing laws. The Clinician has responsibility for performing, within the scope of licensure, conduct mental health assessments, provides a full range of psychotherapy and counseling for individuals, couples, families, and groups exhibiting a variety of mental health and related disorders, screens for human trafficking concerns, and provides crisis interventions services. Performs other related duties as required.REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a Master's degree in social work with clinical experience in the program or Master's degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement, OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years clinical employment experience. Possession of a license to practice as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-F), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), OR Registration with the BBS as an Associate (license eligible professional). Experience with Office of Refugee Resettlement [ORR].Vaccination Required:
Varicella 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart) MMR 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart) TDap complete primary vaccination series completed at childhood,1 TDap dose in adulthood Influenza, 1 dose annually during flu seasonDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
All of the responsibilities listed below are considered essential functions of this position. Additionally, this position is expected to ensure that the core operating values and the strategic direction of the agency are adhered to. Interview individuals, couples, families, and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing psychological (mental, behavioral, and emotional) disorders. Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments on unaccompanied children. Develop person-centered, strength-based treatment plans. Coordinate care with other staff members and community agencies. Provide psychoeducation to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Assist individuals, couples, and families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment. Initiate and conduct individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions. Perform specialized tasks, including involuntary hospitalization procedures (5150) and Tarasoff assessments. Prepare reports and compose correspondence Act as a casework consultant to other clinical therapists and other departmental staff. Coordinate clinical decisions in response to operational demands. Perform crisis intervention during scheduled work hours and on-call. Physical Activity Reaching, Standing, Typing, Talking, Hearing, Repetitive Motion Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
