Job Description

Category Schools - Marriage and Family Therapist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Marriage and Family Therapist or School Social Worker in a supportive educational environment near Whittier, CA. In this contract role, you'll collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to provide vital mental health services that help students succeed both academically and personally.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related counseling field Valid state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist or School Social Worker Experience in school-based mental health settings preferred Strong communication and empathetic listening skills Knowledge of diverse family dynamics, behavioral interventions, and crisis response practices Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students addressing personal, family, and social challenges Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to identify student needs and recommend interventions Develop and implement treatment plans and counseling strategies tailored to school-aged children and adolescents Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing urgent mental health needs Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in compliance with all guidelines and regulations Contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at improving mental health awareness and support This contract opportunity gives you the chance to make a positive difference while building your experience in school-based mental health.
