Job Summary:
The 
Clinician:
Behavioral Health Intervention Team (BHIT) provides community-based behavioral health assessment, crisis intervention, stabilization, and resource coordination in partnership with a CCSO Deputy. This role supports individuals experiencing mental health crises by conducting assessments, connecting them to appropriate services, and helping promote short-term stabilization while ensuring compassionate, team-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
Working in a community setting with a CCSO Deputy as part of the multidisciplinary Behavioral Health Intervention Team. Providing short term intervention and prevention strategies to assist with stabilization of individuals in the community. Completing crisis assessments as well as referring/linking services. Resource coordination to assist individuals to achieve short-term stabilization goals. Conducting evaluations to determine need for professional initiation of involuntary examinations according to Florida Statute 394 (Baker Act). Cultivating an environment with a spirit of teamwork where all contributions matter equally.
Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science or a related field = Required 2 years of experience in the mental health field = Preferred Knowledge of Baker Act policies and procedures = Required Passion for assisting individuals on their journeys towards life-changing wellness = Required Current FL Driver's License with clean driving record = Required Spanish Bilingual = Preferred Ability to engage a wide variety of coworkers, Clients and community agencies = Required Experience working in a fast-paced environment = Required Microsoft Office 365 skills (Including Teams/Video Conferencing) and Electronic Medical Records experience = Strongly Preferred Staying compliant on all training and immunizations. Ability to pass Level II DCF Mental Health Fingerprinting (General Information can be found HERE),
Drug Screen and Local Criminal Check Physical Requirements:
This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
