Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Social Worker with an LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) credential to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health support, clinical counseling, and case management services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and improve overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through evidence-based practices and collaborative care. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement specialized interventions for clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, addiction issues, Alzheimer's care, and other complex conditions. Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or emergencies. Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, psychiatrists, educators, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Engage in clinical research activities related to behavioral health outcomes and contribute to data collection efforts for ongoing studies. Skills Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in home or community settings; familiarity with special education and pediatric care is preferred. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical documentation standards, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding systems for diagnoses. Skilled in patient care procedures such as intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, case management, and patient assessment tools. Ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation; experience with medical records management is advantageous. Knowledge of behavioral health issues including PTSD care, addiction counseling, working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Alzheimer's disease caregiving, geriatrics, and working within hospital or clinical research environments. Excellent communication skills for engaging patients in social work practices like Christian counseling or other culturally sensitive approaches while maintaining professionalism.
