Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering youth and families to build resilience and thrive? Los Alamos JJAB is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed Mental Health Clinician to provide individual and family counseling for youth ages 10-17. Using a variety of evidence-based approaches, including expressive arts, neuroscience-informed interventions, and other therapeutic modalities, you will help young people navigate challenges, strengthen coping skills, and achieve their goals. The clinician will maintain an ongoing caseload of approximately 18-20 youth while working as part of a collaborative team. This position is for 30 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and experience in Social Work, Counseling, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Psychology Master's degree in counseling or related field required. Requires clinical licensure as an LMHC, LPCC, LMFT, LPAT, LMSW, PsyD, PhD Experience working with youth and families Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with clients, family members and professionals Organizational and record-keeping skills Effective oral and written communication skills Experience with vulnerable/underserved populations Interest or experience in neuroscience informed clinical work preferred Interest or experience in expressive arts informed clinical work preferred Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience using an electronic medical record Ability to exercise a high level of confidentially Ability to pass multiple background checks
SUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES
Provide a comprehensive assessment process with client and involved caregivers to determine areas client would benefit from services. Conduct CAFAS assessment within 30 days of intake and every 90 days thereafter. Schedule and conduct psychotherapy sessions with clients and/or applicable family members. Maintain a consistent and reliable client appointment schedule. Efficiently document clinical hours and client-related information in Electronic Medical Record. Write clinical therapy notes within one day of client's appointment. Collaborate with clients and involved caregivers to develop goal-focused, stability-building treatment plans that support transition to a less-intensive level of care, with plans reviewed and renewed every three months. Conduct services within a team environment, staffing cases with other clinicians, Resource Specialists, and other JJAB staff. Collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis. Participate in weekly supervision with the designated clinical supervisor to develop reflective capacity and have a space for professional clinical development. Participate in team meetings to review client progress towards goals and build effective collaborative care. Build relationships with key players, such as school personnel, other providers, and community resources, to build a cohesive team environment that promotes seamless service provision to youth and their families. Coordinate with students, teachers, counselors, nurses, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify at-risk youth and their families. Assist in promoting programs within the community through targeted outreach to encourage participation and referrals. Multiple background checks are required. Physical requirements include working in an office/community environment.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
