Job Description
JOB/ PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The La Cultura Cura program services offers a continuum of services and opportunities to youth and young adults, and their families with a particular emphasis on individuals that needing mental and emotional support, have had contact with/or are at high risk of entering the juvenile justice system, and/or are newcomer Latinxs and Indigenous youth. Youth and families are provided with case management, mental health and peer group services. Youth participants have access to culturally oriented structured enrichment and wellness programming. Services are provided at IFR serve sites in addition to other co-located community-based settings, home-based and where youth receive other vital services. This position requires someone who can demonstrate cultural competency in addressing the diversity of the communities we serve, including gender, race, language, sexual orientation and socio-economic status. The qualified applicant will provide services that include individual/family/group and community interventions; parent engagement and psycho- educational interventions to build protective factors and reduce risk factors related to untreated trauma among youth and family, community level interventions including traditional approaches. Essential Job Duties are, but not limited to the following:- Responsible for screening potential clients for intake, eligibility, and registration for mental health services.
- Responsible for intake, mental health assessment and treatment care plan development
- Provides behavioral health, individual and family therapy services to youth and their families, including Transitional Aged Young Adults within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Offers psycho-educational services to parents and youth in group setting and develop curriculum.
- Offers behavioral health and co-occurring substance abuse services to adolescents, TAY and their families, within a multidisciplinary team
- Coordinates services with staff and community agencies to assure that a continuum of services is provided to clients including coordinating reporting progress towards treatment goals and compliance with justice expectations.
- Maintains hard and electronic documentation, service track logs, and client records for system statistical data processes and meets standards of Quality Assurance and HIPAA compliance
- Provides mental health capacity development to community and partners
- Provides case management, advocacy, and intensive care coordination with staff and community agencies to assure a continuum of care
- Conducts case conferencing and provides clinical supervision to case manager and group facilitators.
- Complies with all legal and ethical requirements set forth by the Board of Behavioral Science and with the policies of the San Francisco Behavioral Health Department
- Completes monthly reports to Project Coordinator and to funding sources when requested. Required to attend DPH trainings to implement policies and procedures for Specialty Mental Health.
- Evening hours and clinical on-duty coverage may be required
- Participate in agency meetings and IFR's sponsored cultural events.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Attends CBHS CYF, TAY, and AOA System of Care Collaborative and is required to attend meetings and trainings.
- Required to attend DPH trainings to implement policies and procedures for Specialty Mental Health.
- Evening hours once a week and clinical on-duty coverage responsibilities on site once a week.
- Participate in agency meetings and IFR's sponsored cultural events.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences, Counseling, Psychology and/or, Social Work, or other related field
- Must be CA Licensed or license eligible (registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology)
