- Adult Behavioral Health Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed Intake Therapist to join a talented team of clinical professionals in our Adult Behavioral Health Program.
In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for adult consumers experiencing severe mental illness and/or substance use challenges. You will conduct comprehensive clinical intake assessments, utilize motivational interviewing to uncover participant preferences, and assist consumers and their support networks in navigating available community services to build individualized safety and initial person-centered care plans. Compensation & Shift Details Hourly Pay Rate (Strict non-negotiable scale):
Limited State Licensure:
$27.22

Full State Licensure:
$29.47
88 / hour
Position Availability:
Flexible part-time hours are available; full-time positions may also be considered.
Standard Operational Hours:
Monday through Thursday (8:30 AM
- 7:00 PM) and Friday (8:30 AM
- 5:00 PM).
Note:
Some evening or weekend hours will be required based on clinical needs.
Work Setting:

Package Paid Continuing Education:
100% of position-specific training is fully employer-paid, including mileage reimbursement (standard IRS rate) for personal vehicle use.

Candidate Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Experience Degree:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling [Required] .
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of one-year post-Master's clinical experience directly providing mental health treatment services to adults dealing with severe mental illness [Required] .
Licensure & Certifications State Licensure:
Active, valid clinical license with the State of Michigan [Required] . Full licensure (LMSW, LLP, or LPC) is highly preferred; all credentials must be active and free from disciplinary actions.
Targeted Credentials:
Must obtain a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and Qualified Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Professional (QIDDP) credential within 120 days of hire. Must possess a CAADC credential or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within 6 weeks of hire. Key Technical & Interpersonal Skills Strong expert capability to engage, build professional therapeutic alliances, and maintain strict boundaries with adult mental health consumers, families, and guardians. Proven background using Motivational Interviewing techniques and a nonjudgmental approach that reflects deep cultural competency. Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills to handle high-volume clinical logging.

Core Responsibilities Clinical Intake & Evaluations:
Conduct thorough behavioral health intakes to identify service needs, gathering and integrating information from consumer self-reports, family members, medical histories, and multi-disciplinary assessments.
Timely Documentation:
Complete and process initial intake assessments and clinical progress documentation within strict 48-hour windows.
Care & Safety Planning:
Assist consumers with initiating the person-centered planning process in alignment with Medicaid guidelines, and build targeted Safety Plans as clinical circumstances require.
Referrals & Collaboration:
Identify consumers who require extensive evaluations and facilitate immediate clinical referrals for specialized psychological testing or support groups.
Compliance & Professional Development:
Complete 25 hours of position-specific continuing education annually, participate in routine clinical supervision/case consultations, and respond effectively to chart reviews and quality audits.
