Full-time Job Type Full-time Description SUMMARY:
The Childcare Residential Construction Coordinator Position plans, schedules, budgets, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with the construction of Residential Construction program projects in the AVCP region. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, implementation, and close-out. The Childcare Residential Construction Coordinator position is a Bethel based position.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Ability to enforce project contract provisions. Assist in performing home assessments for Childcare residential construction program projects. Assist in developing scope of work for individual homes and counseling homeowners on anticipated scope. Formulate Childcare reports concerning such areas as daily and weekly work progress, costs, and scheduling. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to Childcare administrative staff, workers, and clients. Work with Childcare superintendents, foremen, and/or lead carpenter to plan, organize and direct activities concerning construction projects. Compile Childcare project records and reports upon completion in accordance with established program procedures, regulations, and statutes (i.e., Davis- Bacon Certified payrolls, etc.
Supervisory:
Supervises and collaborates with Childcare Construction Superintendents/Foremen/Lead Carpenter; encourages open two-way communication with staff to enhance job satisfaction and overall morale. Develops and maintains a culturally sensitive work environment. Ensures staff has the tools and training required to effectively do their jobs. Monitors and implements all phases of the construction to ensure planning, design, ROW acquisition, Environmental, proper policies and procedures are in place and suited to meet project and community needs. Updates existing departmental policies and creates new ones to improve project management procedure standardization and to enhance systemized processes. Compiles, reviews, and approves construction employee's timesheets and submits them to payroll. Conducts performance evaluations of Childcare Lead Carpenters as required. Requirements RequirementsWORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions. AVCP provides work related PPE such as face masks, gloves, hard hat, safety glasses and vest. Employee is required to wear PPE when on job site. Steel toes safety work shoes are the responsibility of the employee.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.QUALIFICATIONS
The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have strong project management skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of the culture and the needs of the Tribes of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region. Strong written, oral, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Bilingual Yup'ik/English preferred.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and 2 years field construction, management or administrative experience is preferred. Applicant must provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position and demonstrate aptitude for growth in the position. Salary Description $62,328- $93,671
