Job Description

Traveling Educator & Family Nanny Beech Tree Education Concierge Manhattan Beach, CA Job Details Full-time $95,000 - $110,000 a year 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid housing Qualifications CPR Certification Driver's License Bachelor's degree First Aid Certification Driving Positive reinforcement (classroom management strategies) Full Job Description Traveling Educator & Family Nanny — Live, Teach & Explore the World (1-Year Engagement) Beech Tree Education Concierge | Full-time, live-in | Starting in Manhattan Beach, CA → International About the Role Beech Tree Education Concierge places exceptional educators with families who expect the very best. We're looking for a special education-trained teacher to become part of a family for a year — serving as both educator and nanny as they prepare to travel the world together. This is not a typical classroom job, and it's not a typical nanny job. You'll be the academic anchor and a trusted member of the household for three girls — preschool, kindergarten, and 4th grade — designing lessons, supporting daily routines, and helping them thrive both in their learning and in their day-to-day lives. The journey begins in Manhattan Beach, California, with international destinations to be determined as the family finalizes plans. If you've ever wanted to combine your love of teaching with a once-in-a-lifetime year abroad — and you light up at the idea of not knowing yet exactly where you'll end up — this is it. What You'll Do As Educator Provide individualized instruction across core subjects, tailored to each child's learning profile Support a highly gifted child using positive reinforcement, with clear expectations and boundaries Implement and follow through on a behavior plan consistently and warmly Build and adapt curriculum to fit a flexible, travel-based schedule Support diverse learning needs using evidence-based strategies Track progress and communicate clearly and warmly with the family Turn new places into rich, hands-on learning opportunities As Nanny & Family Partner Support morning and bedtime routines Take the girls on field trips and enrichment outings Help keep daily life running smoothly — meals, activities, and routines on the road Light kid-related tidying (their laundry, study and play spaces) Bring consistency, warmth, and structure as a true member of the household What We're Looking For Education Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education, General Education Teaching Credential, Psychology, Educational Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field Requirements Current CPR and first-aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start) Valid driver's license and clean driving record — comfortable driving the girls to activities and outings Must pass a fingerprint background check Experience 4+ years of teaching or educational therapy experience preferred Have less than 4 years but think you'd be a great fit? Apply anyway — we want to hear from you. Disposition — just as important to us as credentials: Adaptable & flexible above all — destinations aren't set yet, plans will evolve, and the schedule will fluctuate. You thrive in that. Ready and willing to leave the country once the family establishes its plans Entrepreneurial spirit — you take initiative and figure things out Positive attitude — you bring warmth and energy to each day Growth mindset — always learning, and modeling that for kids Go-with-the-flow — plans change; you roll with it gracefully Patient — you meet kids where they are Steady with structure — comfortable supporting a highly gifted child through positive reinforcement and consistent, clearly bounded expectations Bonus Points Orton-Gillingham training or certification Background or coursework in applied behavior science Don't have OG training yet? We're happy to train the right person — willingness to learn matters most. Compensation & Logistics $110,000 base salary, plus: Housing provided International travel covered Health coverage Starting location: Manhattan Beach, CA Start date: August 1, 2026
Destinations:
To be determined as the family finalizes its plans (international) Engagement length: 1 year
Schedule:
Full-time and live-in. The schedule will fluctuate with travel and family needs — flexibility is essential. We honor clear off-duty time and dedicated days off, because we know home and work share the same roof in this role and rest matters. You Won't Be On Your Own This role comes with the backing of the full Beech Tree team. You'll have access to our curriculum specialists, who provide planning support, guidance, and a sounding board throughout the engagement — so you're supported as a professional, not isolated as a solo provider. We also offer training opportunities, including in Orton-Gillingham methodology, for educators eager to grow. Why Beech Tree We're a premium education concierge service supporting families who value individualized, expert instruction. Joining our team means working alongside a network of specialists who care deeply about kids and about doing this work well — and, in this role, seeing the world while you do it.
