One-year commitment preferred A warm, thoughtful family in Menlo Park is seeking an experienced, dependable full-time infant nanny for their baby, who will be 5 months old at the start of the role. This is a stable, long-term position with guaranteed hours, a respectful family, and the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with one child during an important developmental stage. The ideal nanny is warm, calm, highly reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys supporting infants through everyday routines, developmental milestones, outdoor time, and play. The family is looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of the baby's day while communicating clearly with parents about feeding, sleep, routines, milestones, and any questions that arise. Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Guaranteed hours One or both parents may occasionally work from home Optional additional hours may be available approximately every other Friday evening, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday evening availability is a bonus, not a requirement. Responsibilities Infant Care Provide warm, attentive, safety-focused care throughout the day Follow the baby's feeding, sleep, diapering, and developmental routines Prepare bottles and formula according to family instructions Wash, sterilize, and organize bottles and feeding supplies Support age-appropriate nap routines and sleep transitions Engage the baby through tummy time, floor play, books, songs, sensory activities, and movement-based play Encourage healthy early development through responsive interaction, exploration, outdoor time, and age-appropriate activities Support future transitions such as introduction to solids, changing nap schedules, mobility, and separation anxiety Maintain a simple daily record of feedings, diaper changes, naps, and meaningful milestones or observations Communicate clearly with parents at daily handoffs and throughout the day when needed Occasionally support bathing or pre-nap hygiene routines after onboarding and according to the family's preferred safety practices Child-Related Household Support The baby's safety, supervision, and developmental needs always come first. Child-related tasks should be completed during naps, quiet periods, or when the baby's needs allow.
Responsibilities include:
Baby laundry, folding, and organization Keeping the nursery, play areas, and baby supplies clean and organized Cleaning up after feedings, diaper changes, spit-up, and daily play Maintaining clean, dedicated baby-feeding areas and following careful hygiene practices Preparing simple infant food as the baby begins solids Putting away baby toys and closing the toy-room door so the family dog does not access baby items This is not a general housecleaning position. The focus is on excellent infant care and maintaining the baby's spaces, supplies, and routines. What We're Looking For The right candidate will be: Experienced with infants, ideally from infancy through toddlerhood Reliable, punctual, and committed to showing up consistently Warm, patient, calm, and emotionally attuned Detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious about hygiene and safety Comfortable with bottle preparation, feeding routines, infant sleep, and early developmental milestones Comfortable supporting babies through transitions, including solids, mobility, changing routines, and separation anxiety A strong communicator who is comfortable sharing updates, questions, observations, and milestones Comfortable receiving feedback and collaborating respectfully with parents Engaged and present while working, with extremely limited personal phone use during active care Comfortable working in a home with a friendly Labrador A non-smoker and non-vaper CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to complete in-person training promptly Able to reliably commute to Menlo Park each day Childcare Approach The family values responsive, emotionally attuned caregiving. The nanny should be comfortable soothing, co-regulating, and gently guiding the baby through everyday transitions such as naps, feedings, diaper changes, and separation from parents. As the baby grows, the nanny should use calm, respectful guidance, consistent routines, and age-appropriate redirection rather than punitive discipline.
