Part-Time Childcare Lead $20/hour, 6 hours per week Reports to :
Director of Programs Organization Mission :
To transform lives through literacy by empowering adults to read, learn, work and grow. Duties and responsibilities : Program Administration Keep attendance for all volunteers, interns, parents/guardians and children. Ensure that all parents, staff and volunteers sign in and out. Keep track of parents' and children's attendance to make sure policies are being followed and waitlist is moving. Communicate with parents and other staff or volunteers about attendance regularly. Parent/Guardian, Volunteer, Intern and Child Support and Supervision Create and implement age-appropriate early literacy activities. Provide educational and language rich experiences for children in the program. Engage children in circle time by reading stories and singing songs. Model proper redirection and educational techniques with volunteers and interns. Use appropriate food handling and sanitation procedures. Help children wash their hands and assist them with their snacks. Ensure the safety of all the children in the program. Communication Communicate openly with Director of Programs to ensure that s/he is fully aware of any Childcare program, volunteer, intern and parent/ guardian issues, challenges, and successes. Miscellaneous Other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.
Schedule:
Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 AM- 12:30 PM Critical Skills Required Strong organizational Skills Team Player Basic competence in
Windows, Office Teaching Skills Bilingual Preferred Required Experience :
Minimum of an Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred CPR Certification; or must obtain within 30 days of employment. 1 to 3 years' experience working with young children. Pre employment background check required
Pay:
