Job Description
Overview A warm, professional dual-career household in Old Saybrook, CT is seeking a full-time nanny/family assistant to support their two daughters (ages 6 and 4). Both parents are veterinarians with demanding schedules, and they are looking for a long-term, career-minded candidate who will become a consistent, trusted presence in their home.
The family is seeking a candidate who is genuinely looking for a long-term role and is emotionally invested in the children, with the ability to grow alongside the family as needs evolve over time. Responsibilities School drop-off and pick-up; managing morning and evening routines Engaged, age-appropriate care for two school-aged girls Children's laundry, organization, and wardrobe upkeep Maintaining the organization of toys, bedrooms, and shared spaces Managing morning/evening routines and after-school activities Light cooking and meal prep for the family Running occasional errands (returns, post office, etc.) Proactive household support during school hours Feeding (and occasionally medicating, if needed) the family cat Traveling with the family approximately once per year (1 week, international) Qualifications Experience in a nanny/family assistant hybrid role Interest in growing into a more formal household management role over time Strong organizational systems and attention to detail Comfortable navigating a dynamic, busy household Allergy-aware and mindful in food preparation Requirements Minimum 5+ years of professional childcare experience Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Able to take initiative and manage tasks without direction Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must use own vehicle Comfortable with light cooking and food prep Passport-ready and open to travel CPR/First Aid knowledge (or willingness to obtain) Pet-friendly Salary and Benefits $32-$38/hour (flexible depending on experience) Overtime in accordance with state law $300/month healthcare stipend Pet insurance reimbursement (up to $1,000/year for two pets) 80 hours PTO (combined vacation/sick) Mileage reimbursement for work-related driving Unpaid major holidays
The general schedule is:

7am through 7pmTuesday:
3pm through 7pm 1 Saturday per month (with a shortened Wednesday that week) While the days are longer, there is downtime during school hours, allowing for a balanced blend of childcare and household support.
