Family Assistant / Nanny (Infant + Preschool | Long-Term Role)

2-week lead time (full schedule begins June 1) About the Role A warm, active family in West Hartford is seeking a reliable and organized Family Assistant/Nanny to care for their two children—a 4-year-old (in school) and a 7-month-old infant. This is a long-term, hybrid role combining childcare and light household support.

Schedule Monday:

7:00-9:00 AM and ~1:00 PM•3:00/5:00 PM (split shift)

Tuesday:

7:00 AM•5:00

PM Wednesday:

7:00 AM•5:00

PM Thursday & Friday:

Potential for additional hours Flexibility is appreciated, especially with Monday afternoon timing. Schedule may vary slightly based on school calendar and seasonal needs. Willing to work with candidate on scheduling. Responsibilities Childcare Provide attentive care for infant (feeding, naps, developmental play) School drop-off/pick-up and care for 4-year-old Manage daily routines for both children Assist with bath time and general care Engage children in indoor and outdoor activities (pool access; swimming a plus) Family Assistant Duties Children's laundry and organization Maintain tidy play areas and children's kitchen items Light meal prep for children Light kitchen cleanup (dishes, bottles, etc.) Assist with home organization projects Coordinate with other household staff as needed Let in service providers Occasional errands (groceries, pickups) Qualifications Prior nanny experience with infants and young children required Family assistant or hybrid role experience strongly preferred Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Comfortable with a flexible and evolving schedule Active and enjoys engaging children indoors and outdoors Strong communication skills and dependable demeanor Comfortable caring for mildly ill children Swimming ability is a plus Compensation & Benefits $30/hour (based on experience) Guaranteed hours Opportunity for additional hours and role growth Paid time off (vacation and sick time; DOE) Paid major holidays (when falling on scheduled workdays) Potential gas stipend or access to family vehicle for work-related driving Ideal Candidate We're seeking someone reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented who is interested in building a long-term relationship with a respectful and supportive family.
