) Southwick Recreation Center School Age Program - 4.0 Southwick, MA Job Details Part-time $15 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Childcare CPR Certification High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with children First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that supports the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children in your care. Employment Terms All employees are hired and classified as temporary part-time workers and must reapply annually to retain their position.
Maximum scheduled hours:
30 hours/week (unless otherwise authorized by the organization's financial advisor). No minimum number of hours is guaranteed. Flexible shifts available between 6:30-9:00 AM and 2:30-6:00 PM . Shifts of 5 to 8 hours may be required on half-days Employees are not eligible for benefits , regardless of the number of hours worked. Key Responsibilities Provide attentive and compassionate care to school-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being. Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters creativity, exploration, and social interaction. Supervise children during activities, maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere. Collaborate with coworkers to support children with disabilities or special needs. Assist children with homework and academic tasks. Qualifications & Experience Ideal candidates will have: Experience in childcare, babysitting, or similar roles. Strong communication skills for interacting with children and parents. Ability to design engaging activities that meet various learning styles. Familiarity with children who have disabilities (preferred). First aid / CPR certification (preferred).
