Previously serving families in Laurel, Maryland, we are hiring an experienced Lead Child Care Teacher for our new location. This is an opportunity to join an established program and take a leadership role in building a high-quality classroom environment from the ground up. Flexible shifts are available during our operating hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Responsibilities Assist in providing a safe, clean, and supervised environment for children at all times Support classroom teachers in the daily care and supervision of children Help implement age-appropriate activities and routines as directed by the classroom teacher Maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios under the supervision of qualified staff Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, rest periods, and transitions Assist with classroom setup, organization, and cleanup throughout the day Help maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards Observe children and report any concerns regarding behavior, health, or safety to the classroom teacher or director Follow all center policies, procedures, and Maryland Office of Child Care (OCC) regulations Support positive interactions and appropriate behavior guidance for children Assist with arrival, departure, and transitions to ensure children are accounted for at all times Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff and families as needed Perform other duties as assigned to support classroom operations and center needs Qualifications Must meet Maryland Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Office of Child Care (OCC) requirements for a Child Care Aide Must be at least 16 years of age Must be able to work under the direct supervision of qualified classroom staff Background check and fingerprinting required (or willingness to obtain prior to employment) Maryland basic health and safety training required within 90 days of hire Maryland ADA training preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Prior child care or daycare experience preferred, but not required Ability to supervise children and respond appropriately in a variety of situations Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills Ability to follow directions, policies, and established procedures Must be dependable, punctual, and professional in a childcare environment
Pay:
$16.75 - $18.50 per hour
