Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic part-time nanny/family assistant to help care for our two children: a 7-year-old and an infant. This role includes a mix of childcare, school transportation, structured activities, infant care, and light household support related to the children. The ideal candidate is warm, patient, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable balancing the needs of both an infant and a school-aged child.
Schedule Mondays and Tuesdays:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturdays:
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Additional occasional flexibility may be helpful for weekend activities, sports, school breaks, or summer scheduling. Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Providing attentive, nurturing care for an infant and a school-aged child Driving the school-aged child to and from school Transporting the older child to sports, activities, or other scheduled events as needed Caring for the infant, including bottles/feedings, diapering, naps, developmental play, and maintaining the infant's routine Creating structure and age-appropriate activities for the school-aged child Supervising play, homework, reading, educational activities, and outdoor time Assisting with both children on Saturdays and during school breaks Planning or assisting with outings such as parks, the zoo, museums, libraries, and other child-friendly activities Completing light educational tasks with the school-aged child during the summer Helping with child-related household tasks when time allows, such as: Loading/unloading the dishwasher Folding and putting away children's laundry Tidying toys and children's areas Keeping children's spaces organized Cleaning up after meals, bottles, snacks, crafts, or activities Summer Responsibilities During the summer, the role will include more full-day care for both children during working hours. This may include planning structured days, taking the children on outings, supporting reading or educational activities, preparing simple meals/snacks, and keeping both children engaged in a safe, positive, and active environment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be someone who is: Reliable, punctual, and consistent Warm, patient, and nurturing Comfortable caring for both an infant and a school-aged child Engaging and creative with play, learning, and activities Organized and able to help maintain routines Safety-focused and attentive Comfortable driving children Able to set kind but firm boundaries Proactive and willing to help without needing constant direction Comfortable communicating with parents about schedules, routines, behavior, and any concerns Desired Skills and Qualifications Applicable skills, experience, and qualifications may include: Prior nanny, babysitting, daycare, teaching, tutoring, or childcare experience Experience caring for infants, including bottles, naps, diapering, and developmental play Experience caring for school-aged children Valid driver's license Clean driving record Reliable transportation CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain Strong communication skills Ability to follow family routines and instructions Comfort preparing simple meals and snacks for children Ability to plan age-appropriate activities Basic understanding of child development Comfortable helping with reading, homework, or educational activities Ability to manage two children of different ages at once Non-smoker preferred Ability to pass a background check References from prior childcare or family assistant roles preferred Education / Background Preferred but not required: High school diploma or equivalent Some college coursework or degree in early childhood education, elementary education, child development, nursing, psychology, social work, or a related field Prior experience as a nanny, preschool teacher, daycare worker, teacher's aide, camp counselor, tutor, or family assistant Infant care training, CPR/First Aid certification, or other childcare-related certifications Compensation Hourly pay, $20-25 depending on experience Pay:
