Extended Care Aide

Job Summary Sacred Heart Catholic School in Florissant is seeking a caring, responsible, and faith‑filled Extended Care Aide to support students during before‑ and/or after‑school program hours. The Extended Care Aide helps provide a safe, structured, and Christ‑centered environment that promotes positive social interaction, responsible behavior, and respectful play while supporting the mission of Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities Supervise students during before‑ and after‑school extended care hours to ensure safety and well‑being.
Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment consistent with Catholic values.
Support students with homework completion and quiet study time as appropriate.
Organize and facilitate age‑appropriate activities, games, and recreational play.
Maintain appropriate behavior management using school‑approved policies and procedures.
Assist with student check‑in and check‑out procedures.
Communicate concerns, incidents, or student needs promptly to the program supervisor or administration.
Collaborate with other extended care staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Maintain accurate attendance records and follow sign‑out procedures.
Participate in training, meetings, and school events as required.
Uphold school policies and support the mission and values of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with children preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to supervise multiple students and maintain a safe environment.
Dependable, patient, and flexible demeanor.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.
