In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and smooth closing of our childcare center, providing a secure environment for children and staff alike. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help maintain a positive, nurturing atmosphere as the day winds down. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, supporting their development and ensuring their safety during the transition from active daytime hours to closing procedures. Duties Secure the facility by checking all doors, windows, and entry points before closing Assist with classroom cleanup and organization to prepare for the next day Ensure all children have been safely picked up by authorized guardians or caregivers Complete daily closing checklists, including safety inspections and documentation Maintain communication with staff throughout the closing process to ensure all procedures are followed Monitor the environment for any safety concerns or hazards and address them promptly Support staff in managing behavior management protocols during the transition period Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, or early childhood education is preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate caregiving practices Experience with classroom management and behavior management techniques Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable Previous nannying, babysitting, or caregiving roles involving infants, toddlers, or young children will be considered an asset Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team Join us as a Messiah Lighthouse Closer and be part of a passionate team dedicated to nurturing young minds while ensuring safety and security at day's end.
