Job Description

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Olde Providence in finding a Full-Time Family Assistant for their 4 and 6-year-olds and a baby due in December. The nanny would be needed Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be flexible with the family's changing schedule and willing to adjust their hours as needed, including coming in as early as 6:00 am or staying late. While the daily schedule may vary, the position will average 40-45 hours per week, with some days being longer or shorter depending on the family's needs. The best Family Assistant for this family will be reliable, nurturing, proactive, and highly organized. They should be someone who naturally anticipates the family's needs, takes initiative without being asked, and approaches each day with a positive, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will enjoy balancing childcare with household management and will be comfortable adapting as the family's needs evolve. The primary childcare responsibility for the two older children will be to provide safe and reliable transportation to and from school, activities, and appointments while creating a positive and supportive environment during their time together. While the children are at school, the Family Assistant will transition into a household management role. This position requires someone who can proactively maintain the home by identifying daily priorities and completing tasks without needing detailed direction. In December, the family will welcome a new baby, and the role will naturally shift to include infant care as the primary responsibility during the day. The Family Assistant will provide attentive, nurturing care, maintain the infant's feeding and sleep schedule, support developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities, and create a safe, engaging environment. Household management responsibilities will continue as time allows. The family is seeking a long-term Family Assistant who can grow with them, seamlessly balancing childcare with household support.
Nanny Responsibilities Include:
Providing transportation to and from school and activities Meeting daily scheduling needs of the children (Feeding, Changing, Napping) Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level Playing with the children both inside and outside the home Doing hands-on learning activities with the children Household Duties Include (Children are first priority): Family laundry and changing sheets weekly Family meal prep, including preparing complete meals for the family Wiping down kitchen counters Unloading/loading dishwasher and sanitizing bottles Tidying common areas Home organization Rotating seasonal clothing and toys Grocery shopping and general errands Keeping home essentials stocked Coordinating vendors and appointments Emptying diaper trash
Pets:
The family has a mini Golden Doodle. The Assistant would be asked to take their dog out during the day and make sure her water and food bowls are full
Qualifications:
Have at least 3 years of professional Family Assistant experience Have a college degree or equivalent experience Have a professional resume Fill out a complete online application Pass a pre-screening interview with Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency Pass a national background check, including a driving record check Have a valid driver's license Have safe and reliable transportation Have a minimum of three professional references Be non-smoking/vaping CPR and First Aid Certified Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus
